Demand the Resignation of FWC Chairman Rodney Barreto

Demand the Resignation of FWC Chairman Rodney Barreto
La causa
To: Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Florida Gov Ron DeSantis, the Florida Legislature.
Floridians are fed up and deeply concerned with the current Chairman and call for his resignation. Rodney Barreto, Chairman of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
Under Chairman Barreto's leadership, the FWC has failed to uphold its mission to protect and conserve Florida's diverse wildlife and natural habitats. The state's own data and reports indicate alarming declines in various species and ecosystems.
Mr. Barreto, as the head of the agency entrusted with protecting Florida’s valuable natural environment and wildlife, has consistently demonstrated a lack of genuine commitment to conservation. Instead, he appears to prioritize financial gain from the exploitation of Florida’s lands over the preservation of its fragile ecosystems.
In his own words he is not in the business of protecting Florida's ecosystems, he is in the business of making money. He is more interested in approving permits and policies that directly threaten critical habitats, endanger native species, and undermine the agency’s mission to safeguard Florida’s wildlife for current and future generations.
We believe that this conflict of interest and neglect of duty cannot continue. For the sake of Florida’s wildlife, environment, and the countless citizens who cherish them, Rodney Barreto must step down immediately.
We call on Governor Ron DeSantis, the Florida Legislature, and all relevant authorities to
- Demand the immediate resignation of Chairman Rodney Barreto.
- Appoint a new leader with a proven commitment to environmental conservation and the protection of Florida's wildlife.
- Stop all spraying of harmful chemicals for "invasive plants" as this leads to a complete death of our ecosystems.
- Stop turning our critical wildlife habitats into golf course communitys.
Sign this petition to protect Florida’s wildlife and demand accountability from those who govern its stewardship.
