Demand the resignation of Des Moines school board
The Issue
As a concerned parent with children enrolled in Des Moines public schools, I find myself deeply troubled by the ongoing situation involving Dr. Ian Roberts. His tenure has raised numerous questions about leadership and decision-making within our school district. The trust and integrity of our educational system are now at stake, and as a community, we must take decisive action.
Dr. Ian Roberts' leadership has been contentious, marked by questionable administrative decisions affecting not only the quality of education but also the morale and confidence of teachers, students, and parents across the district. There have been reports of mismanagement, lack of transparency, and disregard for community input, particularly within the Des Moines educational framework. For instance, the abrupt policy changes and communication failures have led to confusion and dissatisfaction among parents and educators alike.
It is crucial that the Des Moines school board acknowledges the severity of these issues and assumes responsibility for them. Their inability to act transparently and their failure to hold Dr. Roberts, or themselves, accountable have eroded the trust of the community — trust that is vital for the effective functioning of any educational institution.
Therefore, we demand the immediate resignation of the Des Moines public school board. This step is necessary to start anew and to appoint leaders who are dedicated to meeting the needs and expectations of our students and community.
We owe it to our children to ensure they are educated in a safe, accountable, and transparent system. Our children deserve better, and it is our duty as parents and community members to secure their future by insisting on leadership that truly represents and serves our interests.
Please join me in calling for the Des Moines school board to resign and to bring back integrity, transparency, and trust to our schools by signing this petition. Your support is essential for positive change.
