Demand the Reopening of Camberleigh's Case - Justice for Camberleigh Ann Burns!
The Issue
On October 28, 2022, we lost Camberleigh Ann Burns, a bubbly little girl who was just shy of her 2nd birthday, due to the carelessness of one individual, William (Ryker) Matthews. The official cause of her death was stated as "blunt force trauma," but this term falls short of describing the horror inflicted upon our baby girl.
Matthews, the reckless driver, confessed to being inattentive, and yet this is not his first offense. He has previously been guilty of two other driving infractions that include speeding. His consistent negligent behavior has led to devastating outcomes, this time robbing a toddler of her life - a precious young life cut dramatically short. It is not acceptable that such heinous acts go unpunished.
Louisville being #7 in worst places to drive https://www.whas11.com/article/news/community/louisville-worst-drivers-america-kentucky/417-abe03e38-b5b0-497b-aad0-10b779c23d8c

We simply cannot let Camberleigh's tragic death go in vain. Her tragedy should not be another unnoticed statistic in an ever-rising number of fatalities caused by reckless driving.
It is reported that in the United States alone, every year over 90% of all crashes are caused by driver error (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).
In 2022 alone 3,308 people were killed by distracted drivers

Therefore, we are imploring the Commonwealth of Kentucky to reopen Camberleigh’s Case, in pursuit of true justice and to hold the responsible parties accountable. We need to ensure strict actions are taken against those who take life lightly.
If we cannot reopen her case we need stricter laws! I am imploring the Commonwealth to also work with me in the fight to make OUR STATE AND CITY SAFER. Such behavior must not go unpunished. It is high time the law cracks down on individuals like WILLIAM (RYKER) MATTHEWS to prevent the reoccurrence of such tragic incidents.
Let us seek justice for Camberleigh, and use her memory to help save others from similar tragic situations in the future. Please sign this petition, and let your voice be heard.
We need as many names as possible to show Camberleigh's case deserves to be reopened and calls for justice from our community.
