Our community, the very core of Union City, trembles under the leadership of its current Public Safety Director, Mark Ater. We have witnessed, helplessly, as his disrespectful, hostile, and unjust behaviors have caused considerable harm. What stings the most is that Mark seems to have forgotten the very essence of his job - to serve and protect the people of Union City.

Over the past year, our local police department has lost more than seven valuable officers, most of whom left largely due to the toxic environment created by Mark Ater. This doesn't just indicate clear professional misconduct, but it's also harmful for the efficient functioning of local law enforcement, impacting the overall safety of the community.

Many of us have tried to voice our concerns, only to be met with retaliation. The freedom to express disappointment or fear without the threat of retaliation is fundamental to a healthy community. Currently, our voices are stifled and our concerns dismissed.
