We believe in a safe and respectful political ecosystem, where the voice of every citizen in Bernville, Pennsylvania is heard, valued, and respected. This peaceful ecosystem is currently threatened by the appalling views and behaviours exhibited by the current Mayor, Shawn A Raup-Konsavage. His recent comments following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump are absolutely unacceptable and are viewed as an implicit encouragement for political violence. This undermines our democratic values and is clearly not representative of the views of the community. We are therefore demanding his removal from office, as public officials should promote peace, unity and respect. A study by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance states that an inclusive political conversation decreases the likelihood of political violence by 78%. This demonstrates the danger our Current Mayor's behaviour presents not just to our town's unity, but to our safety as well. We are urging our fellow community members of Bernville, Pennsylvania to sign this petition and demonstrate the power of our collective voice against such unacceptable behaviour from our leadership.
