As concerned members of Harford County, we are deeply disturbed by the actions and words of Melissa Hahn, a current member of our Board of Education. Our children's education is personal to us and it is disheartening to see it being manipulated for political and religious agendas.

Hahn has been using her position on the board to push her own beliefs onto our children and parents. She has made derogatory comments about our children, calling them "abnormal" and "screwed up in the head". This kind of language is not only inappropriate but also damaging to their mental health.

Furthermore, she has advocated for book bans and flag bans in an attempt to control what information our children have access to. This goes against the principles of free speech and intellectual freedom that we hold dear in this country.

A position on the Board of Education should represent every child in our community. It should ensure that all students feel safe, respected, and valued at school - regardless their background or beliefs. Unfortunately, Hahn's actions have shown that she does not share this belief.

We believe that every child deserves a quality education free from bias or prejudice. We demand that Melissa Hahn be removed from her position on Harford County's Board of Education immediately.
