We, residents of Pembroke Pines where we have grown and developed, are increasingly disillusioned by the tone-deaf actions of our elected Mayor Angelo Castillo. 

Raised in a community guided by integrity and mutual respect, we struggle to reconcile our values with the unbecoming behavior of Mayor Castillo. His decisions, particularly pertaining to the General Obligation Bond proposal, demonstrate a reckless disregard for his office and the constituents he has sworn to represent.

Suspicions have been raised regarding his ties to lobbyists and the manner in which he seems to put personal interests above communal welfare.

Adding to the impropriety, the Mayor's unauthorized articulation of his nonprofit 'We Love Pines' with public office is a matter of deep concern. Acts like these do not only threaten to destabilize our finances, but also risk becoming an inappropriate income source for him.

In light of recent events, we, the residents, fear for the future of our beloved Pembroke Pines.

Our town deserves a leadership that upholds the values we cherish and serves the community with undivided attention. His current actions suggest a risk of corrupting the rich resources of our town and silencing our voices. The blatant display of disrespect in his public interactions is an insult to the office he holds and an embarrassment for us all.
