Demand the Relocation of Premier Materials Group's Sand Pit from Buckeye, AZ Community

The Issue

As residents of the Rainbow community, we have been subjected to an unfair compromise to our quality of life due to the inappropriate placement of Premier Materials Group's sand pit in our small residential location. We are compelled to breath in the pollution it creates, and to face nearly 900 semi trucks a day that traverse and invade our roads in harmful convoys.

Safety, clean air, wildlife protection, and peace and quiet are rights we are entitled to. Yet, we watch as the presence of the sand pit disrupts these rights daily. The Premier Materials Group has inflicted damage onto our roads, polluted the air we breathe, and jeopardized our communal security.

This harmful industrial mine has no place within a residential community. Its operations pose a huge risk to health and safety, with studies correlating exposure to airborne sand dust with respiratory issues, particularly in children and the elderly (Smith et al, 2018, Journal of Environmental and Public Health). Similarly, the steady traffic of numerous semi trucks is a daily danger to road users.

We appeal to the municipal authorities of Buckeye, the State of Arizona and Maricopa County for the immediate relocation of this disruptive operation. The erosion of our community's tranquility is untenable and changes must be made swiftly to safeguard our rights. Please sign this petition to push for this much-needed change for the betterment of Rainbow Valley, Buckeye, AZ, and its residents.
