Held in a jail in Saudi Arabia, his only 'crime' has been sharing his phone number with a kashmiri friend who was in Iran. His detainment for such an innocuous act is a clear injustice and a violation of basic human rights.

Javaid Ahmad Mir is not a criminal - he is simply a man who needs to return to his family. His young daughter who needs her father's presence at a crucial growing phase of her life. His wife, who has been single-handedly managing the household and his ailing mother, who is enduring a cardiac condition.

We beseech the Ministry of Saudi Arabia to recognize the undue torment they are causing to an innocent family and reconsider their decision to keep Javaid Ahmad Mir detained. No law should punish a man for trying to stay in contact with his friends. We firmly believe in his innocence, and we know he does not pose any threat to the government of Saudi Arabia.

We respectfully appeal to your sense of justice and humanity. As the Ministry of Saudi Arabia, you have the power to undue this wrong. Please, release Javaid Ahmad Mir and allow him to return to his home in Kashmir, India.
