Our beloved teacher, who was not just an educator but a central part of our community and the hearts of our children, was illegally detained by ICE this morning while showing up to work. 

She has a valid work permit, a pending asylum application, and is the mother of two young children, who are now left without a caregiver. Our hearts break for her family, and we stand united in demanding her immediate release. 

We call upon local and federal authorities, including the Chicago Immigration Office and members of congress, to intervene immediately and rectify this mistake.
