The Issue

This petition stems from a profound sense of injustice and reached the international media. Kennard Nichols (photo-only black soldier at the far right), a man whose case has become emblematic of systemic flaws in our justice system, remains incarcerated despite substantial proof that he was wrongly convicted. His continued imprisonment is not just an affront to him as an individual but also represents a broader crime against humanity.  It shows how some humans that one trusts and assists would set them up because of greed for the love of Kennard Nichols' properties, military benefits, money and assets which God will reveal to the world. The Court's decision is public information and can be viewed at the Mississippi Court of Appeals website under the decisions section.

Kennard Nichols is a decorated veteran who fought in 4 and a half combats for the USA.  He worked in the Intelligence, Special Forces and Navy Seal divisions among many other roles as a soldier. He holds two University degrees, a law-abiding respectful citizen and a well raised young gentleman with three generations of Ministerial background. Why is it okay for him to protect his country, endure explosives, injuries to his brain in wars which led to him having a coma for 6 months; but an issue for him to protect his own life and property against a man with felonies who profusely threatened his life? The notorious criminal opened Kennard Nichols' gate which had a "no trespassing" sign and confidently drove on this decorative veteran's property. The man had a reputation for placing people's lives in fear and killing. Kennard Nichols was given a life sentence for killing the man who was threatening him for months. The motion which included the phone records and other substantial information are proof. The case reached the Mississippi Court of Appeals. On December 12th, 2023, the case was reversed and remanded for a new trial. There were many discrepancies, and it is quite rare for any case to reach the highest court and be reversed. The Castle Doctrine law- (Stand Your Ground law) stand-your-ground law was not even addressed at the original trial which was a very unprofessional trial. They also failed to use the Weathersby law. The supporters ask that all these main factors be considered.

Evidence shows that Kennard Nichols was set up by a main instigator and key players which extend to a bigger circle that the public expects to protect their rights. The original Attorney was paid well and failed to represent him. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent for his freedom, bail and more; yet this law-abiding citizen is still sitting in jail. He has dealt with some of the worst treatments and set ups while incarcerated at two prisons and one jail. The majority involved in this set up did not expect it to be this successful because they never thought he would survive in prison. He is still alive throughout the shanks, the gangs, the bounties they tried to place on him for reward of funds and some correctional officers who purposely placed him in areas to be beaten by gangsters. All these plots miserably failed.

The case against Nichols was built on shaky ground, with questionable evidence and dubious legal procedures that have raised significant concerns among legal experts and human rights advocates alike. It's estimated that 1 in 25 people sentenced to death in the U.S are innocent (Source: Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences), highlighting the potential for grave miscarriages of justice like this one.

We call upon those with power and influence over this matter to rectify this situation immediately and dismiss it entirely. The Prosecutor currently is Steven Kilgore and the new Judge will either be Caleb May or Christopher Posey since Mark Duncan has recently retired. He is the same Prosecutor from the original trial. Steven Kilgore, release Kennard Nichols from his unjust incarceration. There is lack of sufficient evidence and are marred by procedural errors. At this moment, there are just dragging time because there can find no evidence against him. It has been over 60 days since the case has been reversed. We are now at 2 years. A thorough investigation on the instigator and key players would cease this dragging time. To make life fair it would be wise for the Prosecutor to throw out this case because the media and entire world are waiting to see his decision. Kennard Nichols is patiently; yet tirelessly waiting at the Newton County Jail to hear the Prosecutor's decision.

This isn't just about one man's freedom; it's about upholding the principles that underpin our society - fairness, justice, and respect for human rights. Please join us in demanding justice for Kennard Nichols by signing this petition today. A national hero who fought and placed his life on the line for the U.S.A has been failed by the system. Let's sign this petition to fight for justice and his freedom!
