We've reached 500 signatures, thanks everyone! Some updates-

• With the amount of new people coming forward to share experiences of abuse, I've mostly gone back to my daily responsibilities. Its important for you to understand- every time 1 person shares an experience, it allows other to feel more safe sharing too. All of these folks deserve resources and support. 
• Redactions: We haven't found a way to navigate redactions as Change makes them. The petition is hard to understand now, but folks seem to be signing nonetheless
• Mountaineers responses: Emails from within the Mountaineers have been shared with me. I feel terrible for members who have to read the tone and lack of trauma-informed care in the emails I've seen. I have seen the internal petition though! That makes me hopeful things may improve.

I have assembled my meeting notes, complaint forms, and emails from the last 12 months of meetings with senior-level Mountaineers leaders. I'll ensure those get passed around so y'all can see how things have developed. 

Otherwise I'm out enjoying a new volunteer ski instructor gig with an outdoor nonprofit! I noticed that they run a background check regardless of what age group you teach, and how to report abuse was covered in the first 20 minutes of orientation. I will let y'all know about some cool outdoor orgs who do similiar things next time!
