Now with the most recent news of a fragile ceasefire deal being agreed to & put in place, I have decided to temporarily change our goals / demands until further notice on how things are doing.

An 'International Stabilisation Force' for Gaza has been proposed, and Irish politician Barry Andrews has called for Ireland to prepare peacekeepers to be deployed as part of that initiative. 

"The Irish Defence Forces have a proud record of peacekeeping around the world and can play an important part in helping to stabilise Gaza." he says in a social media post.

I believe it's important that we seize this opportunity, to play a real part in ensuing the protection of Palestinian civilians if they wish to have us present. 

It's important to remember that this isn't over, and we cannot stop applying pressure on our governments to do the right thing.

I have laid out email templates ( here, here, here & here ) to urge the Irish government to take more actions for Palestine. Hopefully there wont be much need for them going forward. 

One can pray that this deal will go smoothly, and lead to the full liberation of Palestine,

Hello everyone,

One of the most terrifying things about the Genocide we are seeing in Gaza is this strange bystander effect among nations of the world, Israel slowly escalates its aggression towards Palestinians to prevent a collective breaking point, and now we see those in power just standing by as this has turned into a live streamed holocaust. 

We call on Ireland, home to a people with a long history of being colonized, humiliated and degraded – to break this silence, as we cannot afford to wait until someone else ACTUALLY challenges the state of Israel.

Of the western nations, Ireland should understand that decolonization cannot be purely diplomatic – seeking to end this Genocide through purely diplomatic means is unrealistic, and is blatant complicity.

I started this petition to gather support to collectively demand that the Irish government take immediate action and do absolutely everything in their power to open a humanitarian corridor in Gaza – which now means military intervention. 

If international law still holds any meaning, we must also make sure the Orwellian named Gaza 'Humanitarian' Foundation (GHF) gets dismantled, and Israel’s final solution must be prevented from playing out. Ireland has recognised Israel's actions as genocidal, and under Interactional Law and the Genocide Convention there needs to be actions.

Any UN member state can propose a resolution in the UN General Assembly or the Security Council. The right exists for the Secretary General to seek to put together an international defence corridor.

Our government, and other governments must consider all possible avenues to authorise a UN peacekeeping mission — legally nothing is stopping this. As a country in the UN, in the EU, that is respected globally & allied with the US, Ireland is not doing enough, if anything, to make this happen. We have a peaceforce experienced in assisting humanitarian projects. 

In other words, we need the Irish government to take a stand and put serious pressure on NATO, the UN, and the EU for military interventions, a defence corridor, and Gaza’s borders with thousands of aid trucks waiting to be forced open.

The GHF distribution points currently operating in close proximity in Southern Gaza are highly militarized and go against every principle of humanitarian aid. They don’t go where the need is, these death traps are operating in areas under evacuation orders. 

There have been now well over 2,500+ deaths and 17,000+ wounded, which constitutes a mass casualty event almost each day since these sites opened. This number is growing by the day. People are being slaughtered for the mere crime of being hungry.

Particularly young men & teenage boys, who according to testimonies from doctors have been directly targeted on different parts of their anatomy depending on the day, as if the IDF is playing some sick game of target practice.

Many have also been taken captive from these sites, and denied their most basic rights as detainees. Who later describe undergoing indescribable torture while imprisoned. These are sadistic war crimes against starving civilians who continue to risk their lives for some sustenance, Israel is allowed to humiliate them by any means they please. 

The sites reportedly only operate for an hour in the morning. Aid seekers are fired at to prevent them from approaching before the center opens, and are shot at after the center closes, to apparently  'disperse' the crowds. 

Israeli soldiers even admitted to the Haaretz newspaper that they were ordered to shoot Palestinians that weren't posing a threat to anyone. The distribution centers are described as "killing fields" - an Israeli soldier also said,  "our form of communication is gunfire".

The same soldier said they opened fire "early in the morning if someone tries to get in line from a few hundred meters away, and sometimes we just charge at them from close range", even though there was "no danger to the forces."  

As recently as August 1st, martyred Al Jazeera journalist Anas Al-Sharif reported that for the first time, Israeli soldiers used silencers on their weapons to shoot at aid seekers. Al-Sharif had spoken to multiple witnesses who confirmed this usage. This was happening while the Trump administration's envoy Steve Witkoff and the US ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee visited Gaza for several hours to tour the GHF's operations. 

Huckabee said that now the Trump administration is looking to scale up the number of GHF sites, expanding the four sites to an eventual 16.

Anas Al-Sharif said,  "Israeli soldiers were trying to inflict casualties without drawing too much attention."

There is no time to play games with aid. Gaza, a fertile land, is now in a declared famine. Through this obstruction of humanitarian aid, the obstruction of agriculture and blockade, the occupation has engineered this. On July 12th Israel issued an order threatening starving Palestinians who even try to fish in the sea to feed themselves.

Looting is inevitable in this situation. This is starvation economics. During the short ceasefire there was no looting because aid was able to flow freely. There were also 400 distribution points at that time. As the blockade and starvation continues, it becomes abundantly clear that Israel wants Palestinians to be desperate and to fight amongst themselves, giving them an excuse to open fire and kill them. The moment there is disturbance they kill at will.

The Gaza government media office also condemned the discovery of oxycodone pills reportedly found in flour bags distributed by the GHF.

When someone is being dosed with opioids without their knowledge, it increases the urge or craving for the thing they believe they are consuming. The possible effects of withdrawal on top of the urge to seek more, adds further risk to life in an already extreme situation. Medical professionals are now warning that even minimal exposure could trigger addiction, especially in a starving population. 

The GHF must be dismantled and a totally neutral corridor of food, water and medicine needs to be opened. Every commander that issued an order to fire on desperate civilians, every official who allowed oxycodone to enter into the food supply and every politician who didn't do everything they possibly could to stop this needs to face legal action. Governments should be acting on this, and forcing a humanitarian corridor immediately.

If there is no military intervention or no defence corridor opened right now, there will be mass famine and deaths in Gaza. 

I wish to highlight what Euro Med Human Rights Monitor stated in regards to air drops, "Addressing the starvation in Gaza cannot be achieved through superficial or gaudy measures, but requires an immediate end to the blockade and the opening of safe, stable land corridors to enable the regular and sufficient delivery of food, medicine and fuel. The only real solution is safe, protected land corridors for aid delivery under UN supervision.

"400 aid centers once operated in Gaza before Israel dismantled them. They must be restored. Anything less, including these air spectacles, is complicity in genocide. Air drops aren't about saving lives, they're about masking a war crime and preserving control."

As the amount of signatures strengthens our case when it comes to lobbying, I have created template messages (email addresses to contact provided) in regards to this petition and actions we want taken
