An urgent matter regarding holding elected officials accountable for their words and actions:

It has come to light that Ohio State Senator Casey Weinstein expressed open support for Zohran Mamdani, an individual known for his radical anti-Semitic views. On October 18th, 2025, Weinstein stated in his own words that Zohran Mamdani is “great”. This follows a series of issues surrounding Senator Casey Weinstein and his unstable relationship with the local Jewish community, including spreading lies about the bipartisan organization #EndJewHatred, slandering the organizers of a rally against antisemitism in Hudson in an attempt to get people to not attend or associate with the group.  

As someone deeply concerned about the propagation of antisemitism within our political institutions, I find this alignment troubling and unacceptable. Zohran Mamdani has made it clear that he is a radical antisemite. He has stated that he supports “globalizing the intifada” (killing all Jews worldwide), expressed his “love” to the Gazan terrorist group “Holy Land 5”, calls for Israel’s destruction “from the river to the sea”, and aligns himself with radical groups such as the Democratic Socialists of America. 

Senator Weinstein’s position within the Ohio Jewish Caucus stands in stark contrast to the values and mission that such a caucus is meant to uphold. The Caucus should hold a profound commitment to ensuring the representation of Jewish interests within the state and safeguarding the Jewish community against discrimination and hatred. By supporting a public figure known for spreading harmful and divisive rhetoric, Senator Weinstein fails to honor this commitment.

We cannot overlook the implications of Senator Weinstein's actions. Antisemitism is not just a Jewish issue; it is a societal issue that threatens the very fabric of our diverse communities. Supporting figures like Zohran Mamdani sends the wrong message, potentially validating harmful beliefs and contributing to the spread of intolerance.

Now is the time to act decisively to maintain the integrity and purpose of the Ohio Jewish Caucus. Removing Senator Weinstein from the Caucus will reinforce our zero-tolerance policy against any form of antisemitism and ensure that all members hold the values of inclusion, respect, and equality at their core.
