From a personal perspective, the past seven years have seen an absolute deterioration of freedom and human rights within Ethiopia, with the intense hardship faced by many becoming hard to comprehend. One prime example of this suppressive environment is the detainment of Fanuel Kinifu, the owner of Fentale Media Ethiopia. His only crime: speaking out against the government's actions.

Our nation currently struggles with serious accusations of genocide committed by its government. These horrifying actions against our own people remain a painful reality, and it's even more disconcerting when the leaders who ought to protect its citizens are the culprits. However, even worse is the ongoing intimidation and punishment of media members who dare to expose these painful truths.
