I live in a beautiful village in Lincolnshire, UK. Our community is threatened by the proposed Great Grid upgrade which plans to install overhead pylons that will disrupt our landscape and daily life. This is not just an issue for me personally, but it affects all of us who call this place home.

Overhead power lines can have several negative impacts on communities. They can be visually intrusive, potentially reducing property values (source: National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences). They also pose potential health risks due to electromagnetic fields (source: World Health Organization).

In contrast, burying power lines underground eliminates these issues while still delivering reliable electricity supply. Countries like Denmark have already moved 100% of their low-voltage networks underground (source: Danish Energy Agency).

We propose that the Great Grid upgrade should follow this example and bury its pylons underground in order to preserve our community's beauty and safety. We urge those responsible for this project to consider the long-term impact on Lincolnshire's villages and choose a solution that respects both our environment and our health.
