The Issue

I find it utterly disgusting that the culling of ostriches in Edgewood is taking place now after months and months have passed since the alleged outbreak concerns. During this time, the community has supported and cared for these creatures, building a strong herd immunity. It seems outrageous that only now, when these ostriches have become an integral part of our community with many people around to appreciate them, authorities have decided to proceed with this devastating action.

The culling of ostriches is not just a loss of wildlife, but a significant blow to our community's morale and biodiversity. Live ostriches have become a cherished sight in Edgewood, attracting families, tourists, and wildlife enthusiasts. Why, then, are we witnessing this culling when there are viable alternatives such as relocating the birds or increasing safety measures instead?

The people involved in the decision to cull these ostriches should be held accountable and removed from their positions. The community deserves officials who will protect and nurture our wildlife, rather than resort to destructive and unnecessary measures.

In light of these events, we call upon local authorities and decision-makers to immediately terminate the employment of all individuals responsible for this act. Our goal is to ensure that future actions align with the protection and conservation of wildlife, thereby maintaining the natural beauty and ecological balance of Edgewood.

Sign this petition to demand accountability and to protect our ostriches from further harm. Together, we can make a difference by advocating for better wildlife management policies and compassionate leadership.
