Week after week, we receive outreach messages from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) asking for contributions to support the campaigns of James Talarico, Roy Cooper, Sherrod Brown, and Mary Peltola- but Angie Nixon is notably absent from party messaging.

While we fully support all 4 of these candidates and are committed to flipping the Senate, we are deeply concerned and disappointed that Angie Nixon, a candidate who is beating the odds and has tied her race against Ashley Moody while being outraised by her opponent 14:1, is consistently left out of these fundraising efforts.

Angie Nixon has built an incredible grassroots campaign standing on her impressive track record of fighting for working families and advocating for universal healthcare, childcare, education reforms, and social justice. Her dedication and passion directly addresses the pressing issues facing Floridians today, making her a strong candidate for the U.S. Senate. Nixon's campaign has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in reaching voters and rallying support- beating Alexander Vindman in the Democratic primary where she was outraised 16:1, and now catching up to Ashley Moody. Angie Nixon consistently delivers proven results that statistically shows our Democratic dollars are better invested in her than any other current candidate running for US Senate this cycle.

Talarico, Cooper, Brown, and Peltola are also running tight races but they have all already outraised their opponents several times over. Imagine what Angie Nixon could do with a fraction of this level of direct financial support?

Ignoring Nixon's potential not only undermines her candidacy but also the broader goals of the Democratic Party. Every dollar raised for her campaign brings us closer to realizing a future that aligns with our Democratic values of fairness, progress, equality, and creating a coalition that better represents and reflects the diversity of our voting base. Including Angie Nixon in the DSCC’s direct fundraising efforts is crucial to ensure her message and vision reach every corner of the Sunshine State.

We cannot afford to overlook such a promising leader at a time when her voice and policies are so desperately needed. Angie Nixon is touching on the dinner table issues that matter to every day Floridians. The stakes are too high to deny Nixon the support that every Democratic candidate deserves. We urge the DSCC to recognize the strength and potential of Angie Nixon’s campaign and to include her in their direct fundraising initiatives.
