I grew up on Long Island, surrounded by Jewish friends who became my family. They stepped in when my mother couldn't, providing me with food, clothing and an abundance of love. This personal connection has made me acutely aware of the insidious nature of antisemitism and the urgent need to combat it.

It is with this urgency that we call for the dismissal of Anne Norton from her position at the University of Pennsylvania. We believe that her actions and statements contribute to a hostile environment for Jewish students, which is unacceptable in any educational institution.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reports a 57% increase in antisemitic incidents in 2017 alone - a clear sign that this issue cannot be ignored or trivialized. The university should be a safe place for all students, regardless their religious beliefs.
