The Issue
FPUA customers are overpaying for electricity.
Recently rates have doubled as FPUA only buys liquid natural gas power from the Florida Municipal Power Agency. Only buying natural gas puts FPUA customers at risk of changing natural gas prices.
Almost 30% of Fort Pierce residents are living below poverty.
The choice should not be buy food or pay high utilities!
FPUA should be sold to FPL so that the poorest city in St. Lucie County doesn't have to pay extra to keep the lights on.
FPL has bought Vero Beach power and Gulf Power in the last 5 years. Vero Beach has paved the trail. We just need to follow it.
