Update: 14k Shares & National Press! 📣 We are being heard.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a massive update with you all. In just a short space of time, we’ve achieved over 14,000 shares and 56,000 views. The momentum is incredible, but we can’t stop now.
⚠️ A CRITICAL REMINDER
Please double-check your inbox! Your signature only counts if you confirm it via the email Change.org sends you. If you’ve shared this with friends and family (which you definitely should keep doing!), please make sure they know this too. We need every single vote to be "official" to hold the BBC accountable.
The Media is Noticing 📰
Because of the noise you are making, this campaign has now been featured in PinkNews and The Mirror.
This is huge. It shows that when we stand up for our representation, the industry listens. While the BBC has remained silent so far, the fact that national outlets are reporting on our backlash means they can’t ignore us forever. Let’s keep posting, keep sharing, and keep talking.
What I’m Doing Behind the Scenes 🔍
I’m not just waiting for a reply. I have officially submitted a Freedom of Information (FOI) request to the BBC. I am demanding transparency on:
Their specific budgets for LGBTQIA+ representation.
The exact production costs of the "I Kissed A..." franchise compared to other reality hits.
How they justify "funding challenges" for a show that doubled its slot’s average viewership.
I’ve also reached out to several other major media outlets to keep the pressure mounting.
The Future of the Franchise 📺
I have absolutely no doubt that if the BBC is shortsighted enough to let this go, another channel or streamer will see the value in our community. With the noise we are making, we are proving that this franchise is a "must-have" for any broadcaster that actually cares about diversity.
Thank you so much for the support. Let's keep going. 🏳️🌈✊
