uBlock Origin is a heavily-advanced adblocker that allows you to not just block ads, but also block unnecessary elements. Because it runs on Manifest V2, It will soon stop working completely on Chrome & Chromium-based browsers, because Google has announced that MV2 extensions will stop working entirely. uBlock Origin relies heavily on webRequest API, and it is limited in Manifest V3.

This is extremely unnecessary. People will have to move to a new browser due to this. Some people aren't even allowed to change their browser because of a school or company.

I believe what Google should do is introduce features that allow MV2 extensions to work perfectly & entirely fine on MV3, and instead of limiting the webRequest API, make it fully accessible. This means that people won't have to complain about moving elsewhere and move to another browser. Support will end in June 2025 in Chromium-based browsers, except for Firefox. We demand and need Google to take change now, before it's too late. There is no apps like uBlock Origin, except for the Element Blocker extension. Let's save our precious apps from dying!
