We are now into May, which means that all non-tidal (and tidal) boat services on the River Thames are now fully operational. I understand change.org is a private platform however I urge ALL my London-based supporters to contact and write to local MPs immediately to discuss these issues to ultimately prevent another six-month total shutdown of services in the near future, they call it a "winter closure" but in reality its a complete six-month shutdown that is long and unnecessary.

While the primary goal of this campaign is, or course, to have "Christmas sailings" from Hampton Court to Westminster and improve tourism, the secondary goal is to reduce fare evasion and lost revenue on the TfL network and provide an alternative method of transport during tube, train and bus strikes.

Even during periods of maintenance at Teddington Lock, and with better infrastructure, Turk Launches could theoretically run services year-round solely between Kingston and Hampton Court as these services do not pass through the lock.

As stated in my previous update, Hammerton's Ferry between Marble Hill Park and Ham House is the only  service on the non-tidal section of the Thames west of Putney to resume its services during the month of March or earlier.

Boats have been operating on the tidal Thames year-round for DECADES, so I urge ALL OF MY LONDON-BASED SUPPORTERS TO WRITE TO YOUR LOCAL MP'S, TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE TRANSPORT AND TOURISM IN LONDON BETTER!
