Tap4Fun makes several popular and highly profitable mobile app games, which pit players directly against each other individually, or as groups.

Tap4Fun allow players to stalk each other, threaten each other with physical violence, verbally abuse each other on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, and more, all with light punishments of warnings and mutes (24 hours not being able to talk on that account). Read on to learn more details, but what we're asking for here is your support in calling out Tap4Fun and demanding that they institute more effective policies: 

We want Tap4Fun to warn and mute for the first violation, suspend for the second, and ban for the third. We want Tap4Fun to include clear evidence of stalking as a policy violation. We further want Tap4Fun to immediately remove violative content from their platform as soon as they confirm it. 

 

 

 

Somehow, their games are often rated appropriate for children.

The in-game communications channels are an essential part of the success of any player or group. In these communication channels, a highly toxic brew of aggression, including direct threats of violence, hateful language against groups or individuals on the basis of race, gender, or sexual orientation, are common. These are the victims of their fellow gamers, but also the victims of Tap4Fun through their policy of incredible and seemingly unending tolerance for this behavior. I will go so far as to argue that Tap4Fun actively protects players engaging in hate, through a "secret policy" (their own words).

 

 

According to a study by the Anti-Defamation League, 80% of multiplayer gamers recently experienced some form of toxicity with over 10% saying it resulted in depressive or suicidal thoughts. Tap4Fun has been presented with this and continues to protect toxic players through its overly tolerant policies. 

Victims of direct threats of violence, in-game stalking, racism, sexism, and any manner of bigotry are not protected, and no one that plays the game is safe from repetitive incidents at the hands of the same perpetrator.

 

 

In just one well known and documented example, of which Tap4Fun is intimately familiar with and involved in, the same person has threatened to rape a players wife, called them derogatory terms based on sexual orientation and gender, and changed their name to derogatory terms to highlight their victim. Each time Tap4Fun merely "muted" the person for 24 hours or less and otherwise did nothing.

That same person has followed their victim after they fled the Server, and tracked them down. They're now doing the exact same things to that victim and more victims (essentially, anyone that will defend the victim). This was all reported to and acknowledge by Tap4Fun and again, a 24 hour mute. As I write this, the same player has just made another attack on a victim as their ability to chat resumes post-mute. 

This is but one example of a wide-spread issue that is so common thousands of players now utilize discord servers in at least some part to share information on who to look out for and offer ways to try to help each other move from server to server to escape the perpetrators of bigotry and hate.

If Tap4Fun does not act this toxic environment could manifest as real harm to users of their games and services, if it has not already.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We cannot wait any longer for Tap4Fun to act, for the health and wellbeing of the victims of the toxic players freely operating across Tap4Fun games.
