Demand Swift Administrative Overhaul at South West Park Elementary School

The Issue

I, like many others, am left feeling infuriated and helpless as my child suffers under the current administration at South West Park Elementary School. My son has been continuously bullied, the staff treating him as the problem instead of addressing the bully. Despite being a child with ADHD, they've kept finding reasons to suspend him for supposed violence without offering appropriate support. To keep him in school, I've had to sacrifice my personal time and my mother-in-law has had to fill in when I'm working. I'm in the process of getting him professional help, but the school continues to blind-eye this evident struggle.

This, unfortunately, is not an isolated incident. Stories of similar mismanagement have been shared among parents. The administration, Mr. Lopez and Mrs. Sanchez, are failing to maintain a safe and supportive environment for our children. Cases of bullying are not properly dealt with, while children are being suspended for playing. The administration’s actions indicate a profound lack of empathy, understanding, and accountability towards the students, especially those with unique needs.

Research shows that bullying can lead to numerous emotional, psychosocial, and academic problems. In worst cases, it can even lead to suicide (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development). It is crucial for our school administration to comprehend the severity of this issue and act accordingly. The Tracy Unified School District needs to pay heed to our complaints and our demand for a change in the administration. The well-being of our children can no longer be compromised, their futures cannot be sacrificed.

Make your voice heard, let our collective demands echo in the halls of our district. Sign this petition to demand an immediate administrative overhaul at South West Park Elementary School.
