I am a concerned individual deeply disturbed by the misuse of messaging apps, particularly Kik, for illegal activities such as child pornography. It is horrifying to know that these platforms have repeatedly been exploited as tools for such heinous crimes.

According to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), there were over 132,700 confirmed instances of child sexual abuse imagery online in 2019 alone. A significant number of these incidents involved popular messaging apps like Kik. This is unacceptable and needs immediate attention.

We are calling on lawmakers and app developers alike to implement stricter regulations on all messaging and file trading platforms. We propose a 'one-strike' policy where any platform found facilitating illegal activities will be given one warning before being permanently shut down upon a second violation.

Furthermore, we demand that all such platforms incorporate advanced artificial intelligence systems capable of identifying and reporting potential criminal activity without it counting as a strike against them.
