The Issue

Animals, like humans, deserve to live a life free from cruelty and suffering. In Nueva Ecija, Philippines, there has been an alarming increase in cases of animal abuse and neglect. This is not only morally unacceptable but also violates the Animal Welfare Act of 1998 (Republic Act No. 8485), which prohibits any form of animal maltreatment.

Despite this law being in place for over two decades now, enforcement remains weak due to lack of resources and public awareness. As a result, many perpetrators go unpunished and countless animals continue to suffer.

We believe that it's high time for our local government units to prioritize the welfare of these innocent beings by implementing stricter laws against animal cruelty and ensuring their effective enforcement. This includes increasing penalties for violators as well as providing adequate funding for animal welfare agencies.

By signing this petition, you are joining us in calling on the local government officials of Nueva Ecija to take immediate action against animal cruelty. Your signature can make a difference in the lives of thousands of animals who cannot speak up or fight for themselves.

Let's stand together against animal cruelty! Please sign this petition today!
