Demand Stricter Actions Against Abusive, Drug-Dealing Parents
The issue
Despite the personal pain I bear in sharing this, it is imperative that we rise above our discomfort to address an urgent issue. Every day, innocent children become victims of parental abuse and neglect, often at the hands of parents who themselves are victims of substance abuse and crime. These so-called parents are more akin to cruel dictators, robbing their children of their innocence, a chance at a good life, and an opportunity for quality education.
According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), nearly 1 in 8 children (8.7 million) lived in households with at least one parent who had a substance use disorder from 2009-2014. Additional research highlights that substance abuse is a factor in 70-80% of cases where a child's welfare is compromised. But numbers alone cannot encapsulate the trauma, the shattered dreams, and the lifelong scars borne by these children.
We cannot stand idle while these young, vulnerable lives are perpetually damaged by individuals who are supposed to protect, nurture, and educate them above all else. I want no child to fall prey to these destructive environments and I wish no parent to use their child as a pawn in their deviant ways.
We call upon the government and other responsible authorities to enact stricter legislation against abusive and drug-dealing parents. These children must be removed from such hazardous environments and individuals perpetuating such harm should never be allowed access to their children again.
Remember, we aren't just fighting against abusive parents; we're fighting for the countless dreams that have been crushed, the innumerable lives marred, and the countless children praying for rescue.
The future of our society depends on their safety and well-being, then isn't it high time we prioritized it? Please sign this petition today to advocate for a fully protected, positive, and nurturing childhood for every child. That will be better for every single one of them because they are the future of humanity
