My homeland of Bangladesh is currently under siege, held captive by the horror wreaked by militants from BNP, Jamaat-e-Islam, and Shibir. Recent events have led to the illegal release of 826 convicts and 9 militants

from jail, intensifying the chaos in our nation. Even more terrifying, these are the very militants responsible for the brutal deaths of 20 people, including 17 foreign nationals, at Holy Artisan in 2006.

The army has intervened, trying to maintain peace and order against this wave of anarchic disruption. Yet the situation remains critical, and more needs to be done. These militant groups have been infiltrating government buildings, leading to extensive destruction throughout our nation and terrorizing the citizens who live and work in these areas.

Injustice of this magnitude cannot continue to plague Bangladesh. Let us not forget the 20 innocent lives that were lost in 2006, the hundreds of prisoners back on our streets, and the ongoing peril caused by these militant groups. It is imperative, for the security of our nation and the safety of our citizens, that these criminals are recaptured and that strict legal action is taken against BNP, Jamaat-e-Islam, and Shibir to deter any further acts of terrorism.
