Demand Stockton Police Department to Release Evidence of Domestic Abuse

Demand Stockton Police Department to Release Evidence of Domestic Abuse
The Issue
My daughter, Taraji Brooks, experienced a heartbreaking ordeal of child abuse on 05/18/2021 and 05/22/2021. Her father, overcome with anger, took it out on her, resulting in a grievous injury; a concussion from a severe blow to her head. Stockton Police Department, possessing key pieces of evidence - original police reports, body camera footage, and the father's phone call and text message records - has not yet sent these crucial items to the district attorney's office. The purpose of this petition is to insist on immediate action.
Fifty one States in the United States reported 588,229 victims of child abuse and neglect in 2021. Victims like Taraji deserve justice. By denying access to the evidence, the Stockton Police Department is indirectly shielding the perpetrator from the critical investigation needed by the district attorney's office. As Taraji's maternal family, we have the right to demand transparency and fairness in this ordeal.
By signing this petition, let's urge the Stockton Police Department to release the original police reports, body camera footage, and phone records from Taraji's father, timely and unaltered, to the district attorney's office. Together, let us fight for justice for Taraji and all victims of child abuse.
