Dear Supporters,
When you signed this petition to stop mass public surveillance in St. Johns County, you drew a line in the sand. Thanks to your support, our movement has grown from a handful of concerned neighbors into a united coalition of fiscal watchdogs, civil liberty advocates, and data privacy defenders.
Now, it is time to turn our digital signatures into visible, community-wide action.
The Big Announcement: Decentralized "Block the Flock" Day
On Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, we are launching a coordinated, county-wide demonstration.
We are not gathering in a single centralized courtyard where county officials can easily tune us out. Instead, we are launching a decentralized action. We are asking every supporter to pick a camera node near your neighborhood or daily commute and peacefully occupy the adjacent public sidewalk.
By blanketing the major thoroughfares of St. Johns County—including US-1, SR-207, and A1A—we will send an unmistakable message to the Board of County Commissioners: Our roads are not a dragnet, and our private data is not for sale.
Your Mobilization Toolkit: How to Participate We want to make it as easy as possible for you to hit the sidewalks safely, legally, and effectively next Saturday. We have prepared everything you need:
- RSVP and Share the Facebook Event: We have officially launched our digital hub for the rally. Please RSVP, invite your friends, and coordinate locations with other neighbors on our official Facebook Event Page.
- Download and Share the Event Flyer: We have designed a high-impact event flyer featuring St. Augustine's historic fort covered by the tracking grid. Save the image, print it out, or share it on local Nextdoor and Facebook groups to rally your neighbors.
Keeping Our Action Safe and 100% Legal
To ensure our message remains powerful and respected, we are adhering to a strict code of conduct.
- Stay on public rights-of-way and public sidewalks at all times.
Do not touch, cover, spray-paint, or physically alter any camera equipment. Physical vandalism shifts the focus away from our legitimate constitutional arguments. - Use your signs as the block. By holding high-visibility signs next to these cameras on public rights-of-way, we bring these hidden tracking networks out of the shadows.
