As a dedicated employee and resident of Solano County, I am deeply troubled by the recent actions of our Board of Supervisors. On November 7, 2023, they initiated a process to award themselves an 18.8% raise with no oversight or justification. Despite opposition and alternative proposals, they approved this self-serving increase on December 5, 2023 with a narrow margin vote.

As someone who has personally fought for fair wages in this county as part of a union bargaining team, I find it outrageous that the same board who opposed us so vehemently can grant themselves such an excessive raise within just 30 days. We had to fight tooth and nail into the early hours for our modest increase of 12% spread over three years.

This is not just about me; it's about all hardworking residents raising their families here in Solano County. It's about fairness and accountability from those we elected to serve us. The communities they represent deserve better than this blatant disregard for fiscal responsibility.

We demand that the Solano County Board of Supervisors rescind their unjustified raise immediately! Their increase should align with what other employees have received in recent contracts - no more than 12% over three years.
