🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE 🚨
Due to extreme wind conditions in Nags Head tomorrow morning, we are postponing Operation Inflate: The Bluefin Uprising protest next to Jennette’s Pier. Safety comes first, and as soon as our official permits are reconfirmed, we’ll announce the new demonstration date. If only we could just be fishing from the pier!
🎣 But the fight continues:
We just received word from NOAA's HMS Division Chief that the Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Advisory Panel is holding a virtual public meeting May 6–8. This is our chance to make sure pier and shore anglers are heard loud and clear and cannot be pushed to silence.
📢 The movement is growing:
✅ Over 1,600 petition signatures
✅ Coverage by NBC affiliate WAVY, Yahoo News, On The Water, and Salt Water Sportsman
🙏 Huge thanks to those outlets for bringing awareness to this critical access issue.
🦄 Want to help?
Order your Operation Inflate hoodie or fishing shirt— proceeds go directly toward the movement of registering NC vessels and HMS permits for inflatable unicorns, rubber duckies, and other legally compliant floaties plus all the event coordination:

📸 Can't be there? Make waves online:
✔️ Tag @FishingPiers
✔️ Use #OperationInflate
✔️ Post a pic or video with your inflatable — pier, beach, or backyard. Show the world we will not be silenced by absurd laws and share the petition with friends.
Follow us on Instagram @FishingPiers for further information or on our website https://FishingPiers.Info
🚀 This has become a far bigger movement than we ever expected, but are not surprised with how passionate shore fisherman are for our rights to fish! We’re also looking for volunteers to help with:
Coordinating logistics
Social media, video content, drone video
Legal and permit follow-up
Local outreach to press and pier operators💌 Reach out to Dave@FishingPiers.info if you want to get involved with the team. Even an hour can help move the mission forward.
Equal access isn't optional.

That’s not conservation — that’s exclusion.”
