As a parent and former student who was severely bullied throughout school, I have watched history repeat itself with my own child. It’s heartbreaking to see that after 30 years, nothing has truly changed. Schools continue to preach "zero tolerance" for bullying, but little to no meaningful action is ever taken.

We are calling for urgent reform in how Australian state schools handle bullying. Every student deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported in their learning environment.
We demand:
    • Immediate and consistent disciplinary responses to bullying behaviour
    • Transparent reporting and accountability processes
    • More on-site supervision and staff training
    • Access to culturally safe support systems for Indigenous students
    • The return of in-school suspensions: At-home suspensions today feel more like a vacation for many students with access to devices and entertainment. In-school suspension programs allow for reflection, structure, and supervision.

Our children deserve better than recycled excuses. It’s time to hold schools to a higher standard and demand real protections for students across Australia.
