This process leaves sitters vulnerable to false claims, miscommunications, or retaliatory reviews, with little opportunity to defend themselves or present their side of the story.

Pet sitters are the backbone of Rover’s platform. We provide reliable care for pets, peace of mind for owners, and contribute significantly to Rover’s reputation and success. Deactivation without a thorough and impartial investigation not only threatens the livelihoods of sitters but also undermines trust in the fairness of the platform as a whole.

We request that Rover implement the following changes:

Balanced Investigations – Ensure that both pet sitters and pet owners have the opportunity to fully explain their side before any deactivation decision is made.
Clear Communication – Provide sitters with written details of the complaints or concerns being reviewed, along with the evidence considered.
Right to Respond – Give sitters a fair chance to respond to allegations, submit supporting documentation, and have their perspective reviewed by Rover.
Independent Review Process – Decisions about deactivation should be made only after both accounts have been evaluated fairly and evidence from both parties has been considered.
Transparency and Appeals – If an account is deactivated, sitters should receive clear reasons why, along with an option to appeal the decision.
By implementing these changes, Rover can protect both sitters and pet owners while ensuring fairness, accountability, and trust in the platform.
