Demand Review of Controversial Sexual Assault Ruling by Allahabad High Court

The Issue

According to the National Crime Records Bureau, a woman is raped every 20 minutes in India. Justice must protect survivors, not silence them.

A recent court decision has shaken the faith of countless survivors and citizens. When justice falters, it becomes our duty to speak up.

I address this issue with personal feelings ignited by the struggles faced by my country's daughters - sisters who cannot enjoy life or freedom due to the omnipresent fear of sexual assault.

A recent ruling in the Allahabad High Court states that grabbing a woman's breast without skin-to-skin contact is not considered rape. This is an insult to not only the suffered, but also to the cause of justice. The law ignores her pain and focuses only on "how much" assault happened.

I against this law because:

( Assume a hypothetical situation)

[1]. when a person rape a girl (which includes touching her body without her consent) ,it's consider as a rape.

[2] When 2nd person only grab her breast and breaking the string of her pyjama but he can't rape but he touch her body part without her consent.

#The first person (who raped) gets harsh punishment (7+ years jail).

#The second person (who grabbed breast & broke pajama) gets lighter punishment (1-5 years).

   - But both had the SAME evil intention!

IN BOTH CASE, BOTH PERSON HAVE SAME INTENTION AND GOVERMENT PUNISH THEM EQUALLY.

In the same country, for minors, even touching private parts is punishable as "aggravated sexual assault" under Sec 10 POCSO. So, why not for adult women?

These differing interpretations of sexual assault under the law are inherently discriminatory and unjust. Sexual assault against womanhood, whether a minor or an adult, should not be trivialized, but should, rather, invoke strict laws and punishment. India sees a shocking rate of sexual assault cases where every 20 minutes, a woman is raped.

This alarming rate indicates a need for immediate and drastic action. We urge for a reevaluation of the current laws and interpretations surrounding sexual assault in the Indian legislative system, aiming specifically at the recent ruling in the Allahabad High Court.

Let us fight for justice and the rights of our sisters. Please, sign the petition in support of this crucial cause.
