The Issue

my 10-year-old cousin, Kaiden, was attacked by a dog that roams our neighborhood freely. Despite knowing the dog is aggressive and chronically menacing to children, its owners have taken no action to rectify the situation. And Kaiden and his younger brother have since been chased numerous times lucky to make it in the house before another attack. The consequences were devastating: Kaiden was bitten and now lives in constant fear. This inappropriate handling is not an isolated incident. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year in the U.S., and more than half of these victims are children (American Veterinary Medical Association). We request the relevant local authority to intervene in this circumstance. The dog should be rehomed to an environment that is suitable for it, and where its owners can effectively manage its aggressive behavior. Our neighborhood must be a safe place for children like Kaiden! Please, sign this petition and help us demand that a resolution is made, protecting our communities from the potential dangers of inadequate pet ownership.
