As someone who has witnessed first-hand the pain of friends and loved ones whose pronouns and gender identities are not respected, I am compelled to take action. It is a basic human right to be recognized for who we truly are, and this includes our chosen pronouns and sexual identities. 

Unfortunately, many people still face discrimination based on their gender identity or sexual orientation. A 2020 survey by The Trevor Project found that 25% of LGBTQ+ youth use pronouns or pronoun combinations that fall outside the traditional binary (The Trevor Project). This highlights the importance of respecting all pronouns.

Moreover, according to a study conducted by GLSEN in 2019, nearly 60% of LGBTQ+ students felt unsafe at school due to their sexual orientation (GLSEN). This is unacceptable. Everyone deserves respect and acceptance regardless of their sexuality.
