Demand Resignation of TCSD Members and teachers in support/ defense of convicted abuser
The Issue
This petition is critical to ensuring the safety and welfare of students in Tooele County, Utah. Shockingly, certain members of the Tooele School Board and teachers are presently sat in defense of a colleague accused of sexual abuse, embodying a significant lapse in judgment and ethical conduct. It is disheartening that instead of protecting the students, these individuals sat in support of the accused. And members of the school board are refusing to release the disciplinary records for teachers already disciplined for bullying, abusing, or sexually abusing children.
Alarmingly, in the US, nearly 10% of K-12 students will encounter school employee sexual misconduct during their school career, based on a report by the American Psychological Association. Such a staggering figure emphasizes how incidents like this cannot be ignored or treated lightly.
In light of this, we demand an immediate and unconditional resignation from all those school board members and teachers who have chosen to side with the accused sexual abuser and who refuse to release the disciplinary records. We urge that this is the minimum step needed to restore trust, justice, and safety in our school community.
Stand with us and support this petition to uphold a secure and protected environment for students in Tooele County and across the nation. Please, sign the petition now.
