Demand Resignation of Michael Matheson for Misuse of Taxpayer Money

The Issue

As residents of Falkirk, we have personally experienced the impact of budget cuts on our education system. While we were fighting against these cuts, Michael Matheson, a public servant, spent £11,000 of taxpayers' money on data roaming charges during his holiday to Turkey. This is not only an irresponsible use of public funds but also a slap in the face to those who are struggling due to austerity measures.

It's important to note that this misuse comes at a time when Falkirk Council has been forced to make significant reductions in spending. According to official reports from the council itself, the council is set to be £64 million pounds in-dept over the next four years, how can he an elected official spend taxpayers money on data on his lavish holiday as the people of Falkirk suffer with budget constraints

This petition calls for accountability and transparency from our elected officials. We demand that Michael Matheson resigns from his position immediately and takes responsibility for his actions. It's time we send a clear message that such misuse will not be tolerated by the hardworking taxpayers who fund these positions.

Please sign this petition if you believe in holding our elected officials accountable and ensuring responsible use of taxpayer money.

it was only months ago that pupils and parents of Falkirk had to fight to keep vital school buses, pools and libraries. Pupils fought long and hard to keep their vital services, months of work, consultations meetings and campaigning. Yet now, Michael Matheson a public servant, who knows full well that his constituents are suffering from budget constraints has intentionally mislead and slapped the honourable People of Falkirk in the face. Please sign this petition not just to hold this man accountable but to show that the people of Falkirk will not just sit down and let politicians mislead and misspend our tax money, sign this for Falkirk and for a better more transparent Falkirk political system!
