As a resident of Ward 4, I am deeply disturbed to learn that our current councillor, Mark Mckenzie, had a podcast expressing support for the death penalty and public hangings. This disturbing revelation is completely at odds with the sensibilities of our diverse and progressive community. But that's not all. Emails from constituents go unanswered, critics are blocked, and the sense of representation is lost.

The concept of a civil servant is based on transparent communication, open dialogue, and acceptance of dissention. None of these principles are upheld by Mr. Mckenzie, jeopardizing the very essence of democratic representation. A councillor should serve the community based on empathy, understanding, and mutual respect - all of which seem to be absent in the case of Mr. Mckenzie.

This is our call to action. It is time to demand accountability and transparency from our public servants. Let us express our dissent and stand up for the values that our community is built upon.
