Demand Removal of London City Council Members for Unjust Conduct

Demand Removal of London City Council Members for Unjust Conduct
The Issue
During the February London City Council meeting on Monday, February 3, 2025, London City Council members Kelly Smith-Greene, Judd Weaver, Anthony Ortega, and Justin Young displayed worrying misconduct. A concerned Laurel County citizen by the name of James Jones was given permission to address the council by councilmember Anthony Ortega which resulted in said members of the city council shouting at Mr. Jones and getting up to leave their municipal table. I bore witness to their overt hostility and poor representation of our beloved city, London.
These actions don't merely cast a dark shadow over that particular meeting, they spotlight a significant and recurring problem. We find ourselves questioning the integrity of our local administrative body, concerned about an unjust and non-transparent council whose motives seem to extend beyond the welfare of its citizens.
For the sake of our democratic values and the welfare of London's citizens, we must demand accountability. Furthermore, it's highly important to ensure that the people vested with the responsibility of running our city are people of integrity who duly respect and represent the voices of their constituents.
We won't stand for representatives who lose sight of their primary duty and begin to act out of personal interests or agendas. It is our right as citizens to feel heard, acknowledged, and adequately represented. We demand an immediate investigation into this matter, followed by necessary measures including the removal from office of any council members, if they are found guilty of misconduct.
We, as a community, must rally our efforts to protect our rights for a fair, transparent, and just governance in the City of London, Kentucky. Your signature can make a significant difference in achieving this.
Sign this petition, demand integrity and transparency from our local governing bodies. London deserves better.
