Demand Refunds for Cancelled Digital Visitor Permits in Newham Borough

Demand Refunds for Cancelled Digital Visitor Permits in Newham Borough
The Issue
I, like many residents of East Ham, London, have been left out of pocket due to the sudden cancellation of our bulk digital visitor permits by Newham Borough. These permits, which we bought with no expiry date through MI Permit, are now deemed invalid after 31st March 2024 due to a new system being implemented. The borough has decided not to issue refunds for any unused permits - an unjust decision that effectively keeps all the money they made in advance on these permits.
Personally, this change will cost me money as I still have three unused visitor permits. When I purchased these permits there was no expiration date attached and now I am given only six weeks notice to use them despite having no immediate need for them. This is not just my story but the reality for numerous residents who are equally entitled to a refund or conversion of their existing permits into the new system.
This abrupt change without proper compensation is unfair and unacceptable. We demand that Newham Borough either refund us for our unused digital visitor permits or convert them into their new system without additional charges.
We call upon all affected residents and those who believe in fair treatment to sign this petition and make our voices heard. Together we can ensure that we are not left out of pocket simply because Newham Borough has changed its permit system.
