The Issue
I am deeply concerned about the conditions and operations at Big Guy Little’s World Sanctuary, a facility that currently houses approximately 100 Chihuahuas.
While the sanctuary publicly presents itself as a safe haven for vulnerable dogs, serious concerns have been raised by former volunteers, visitors, and observers regarding veterinary care, overcrowding, oversight, and transparency. Reports indicate that many dogs may not be receiving consistent or adequate medical attention, placing their health and quality of life at risk.
Equally troubling is the lack of financial transparency. The sanctuary actively solicits public donations, yet provides no clear accounting of how those funds are used. Donors and supporters deserve to know whether their contributions are going directly toward veterinary care, nutrition, and humane living conditions.
Additionally, the sanctuary’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit status was revoked nearly three years ago, a fact that raises further concerns about accountability and regulatory compliance, especially given its continued fundraising efforts.
We are calling for immediate and meaningful reform, including:
• Independent veterinary oversight
• Transparent public reporting on finances and animal care
• Compliance with animal welfare and nonprofit regulations
• Assurance that the number of dogs on-site is humane and manageable
The dogs housed at this facility deserve dignity, proper medical care, and a safe environment. By signing this petition, you are urging accountability, transparency, and reform — so these animals can receive the care they deserve.
