I am a resident of an apartment complex in Irving, TX, called “The Ridge On 161” Or “Promenade” where I live with my two children. I am also expecting another child soon. Unfortunately, our living conditions are far from ideal or safe for my growing family. Our apartment complex is heavily infested with roaches and other pests, which pose serious health risks. Also I’ve made nearly 100 maintenance requests for things falling apart in my unit. 

Over time, the rent has increased multiple times despite the deteriorating conditions of our apartments - outdated facilities that can no longer be considered livable by any standard. It's not just about affordability anymore; it's about justice and legality.

According to Texas law (Texas Property Code Sec 92), landlords have a duty to repair or remedy conditions that materially affect the physical health or safety of an ordinary tenant. Yet, we continue to live in these unhealthy environments while being charged exorbitant rents.

This situation isn't unique to us alone; many families in this complex are suffering under these same circumstances without any relief insight from management or property owners.

We demand immediate action: a reduction in rent until all pest infestations are eradicated and necessary renovations made to improve living conditions within the apartments. We believe it is both fair and legal given our current predicament.
