If you live in Lehi, you already know: the traffic is out of control. Main Street sees nearly twice the number of cars it was designed to handle. Commutes that should take 10 minutes are stretching to 30 or more. Families are spending more time in traffic than at the dinner table. And all we’re getting — again — is a study.

Lehi City just secured $2.5 million in federal funding for a traffic study to decide where to build new roads, including a possible new freeway. But while city officials say they “get it,” that doesn’t change the daily gridlock we’re living through right now.

The truth is, Lehi residents have been patient. We’ve watched the population grow, developments expand, and our roads get more dangerous and more congested. And still, there’s no clear timeline, no clear plan, and no immediate relief. We want to see public commitments, not more promises. The people of Lehi deserve a real roadmap — not more delays, vague answers, or consultant reports that end up sitting on a shelf.

This $2.5 million study must not become another excuse to postpone action. Lehi families, workers, and emergency responders are stuck in traffic every single day. We need to know when relief is coming, and we need our voices to be part of the process.
