Demand RCT Council to Keep Black Refuse Bins Instead of Replacing with Bags

The Issue

The Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) Council is planning to replace the existing black refuse bins with black bin bags. This change poses significant environmental and logistical issues. Collection of waste in bags rather than bins leads to increased plastic consumption, thereby contributing to plastic pollution. In fact, the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) suggests that plastic bags are not a sustainable option for waste management. Moreover, it exposes our localities to the risk of vermin infestation, as waste bags can be easily torn open by pests. As responsible residents of Wales, we believe our voices must be heard on this issue. We urge the RCT Council to reconsider this decision and continue using black refuse bins for waste disposal. It's high time we prioritise sustainability over cost-cutting. Please join us in this campaign. Sign the petition. Thank you.
