The Issue

Sina Ardeshir Larijani, currently employed by the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), has familial ties to an organization with a notorious reputation. The ties are specifically with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran, a group recognized globally for its involvement in terrorist activities. Sina Ardeshir's father, Fazel Ardeshir Larijani, is a senior official within the IRGC. His uncle, Ali Ardeshir Larijani, once the chief commander of IRGC and recently head of their Intelligence Security, is known as Tehran's largest power broker.

The IRGC has been implicated in numerous human rights violations, both inside Iran and globally. This military organization is known for its brutal crackdown on Iranian protesters, leading to countless deaths and suffering. Furthermore, the IRGC has played an instrumental role in the establishment and support of terrorist networks worldwide, creating instability and fear.

It is unacceptable for a Canadian institution such as the RBC to employ an individual with such direct connections to a group engaged in heinous acts and global terrorism. This association not only undermines the values of Canadian society, which prides itself on human rights and freedom but also questions the safety and integrity of RBC's operations.

We must ask ourselves: Is it appropriate for our financial transactions to be managed by an individual with such disconcerting connections? Allowing this compromises our morals and stands contradictory to the image Canada projects on the global stage.

To uphold these values and ensure the ethical management of financial dealings in Canada, it is imperative that Sina Ardeshir is dismissed from his position at RBC without delay. This action would not only reaffirm RBC's commitment to ethical business practices but also showcase Canada’s collective stance against terrorism and human rights violations.

Join us in sending a strong message to RBC and the wider community: We do not want our banking services staffed by individuals linked to groups that promote violence and terrorism. Let us preserve the sanctity and integrity of Canadian institutions.

Please sign this petition to demand that RBC take immediate action and demonstrate their commitment to ethical practices and global peace and security.
