Help us expose the corruption in the bad business of Georgia puppy mills. Demand justice for the dogs that have suffered and died in the Montgomer and Candler County, GA cruelty cases.

Today we fight, 4 years later, to hold breeder Angela Powell and her accomplices in high places accountable. We demand that the people protecting her--her sister Donna Powell, who was the mayor at the time, and her lover, Sheriff Doug Maybin--be swiftly charged with corruption, obstruction of the investigation, and failure to build this cruelty case. Today, we do know that the charges have been minimized due to her connections and powerful people protecting her. When this case started there were over 500 dogs in these deplorable conditions; only 250 dogs were rescued. We have more questions than answers. This case has caused a deeply traumatic strain on the community that is supposed to trust that the justice system applies to everyone.  This is scary evidence of how corruption is embedded at the core of our legal system, and explains the lack of urgency to make this a felony cruelty case.  

The cost of cruelty is not just financial. We can't ignore the mental health deficits this work inevitably deals to everyone involved. We get it--nobody wants to see starving and abused animals on social media all day. But we say, there IS HOPE! And it starts with YOU! We don’t want all your money, we want you to believe there is hope! There is something more to be done than throwing money at these situations, turning your back and praying it’s enough. No, cruelty costs more than dollars.

We hold the Georgia Department of Agriculture responsible for the failures to address the cruelty in these cases.  The GDOA is giving people like Angela Powell a license to breed, harm, and kill. We want commissioner Tyler Harper to start a committee investigating the corruption, cruelty and failures in the licensing department of the Department of Agriculture and work to address these failures, so that we can work together to start a state task force to address the failures and cost of cruelty in Georgia. 

Please do not let this PRIVILEGED woman walk away from the mess she created. Help us expose the double standards that we KNOW are here. We demand justice for the countless saved, dead, and missing victims of bad breeder Angela Powell and demand accountability and charges of her accomplices.
