The Issue

Congress just subpoenaed Ghislaine Maxwell to testify under oath — but there’s no guarantee the public will ever know what she says.

Maxwell was convicted for helping Jeffrey Epstein abuse underage girls. She knows who else was involved — and now that a federal judge has blocked the release of Epstein’s grand jury transcripts, Maxwell’s voice may be the last remaining key to the truth.

The House Oversight Committee says it wants her deposition to help craft anti-trafficking reforms. But survivors and the public have been burned before by closed-door deals and sealed records. We can’t let that happen again.

We call on the Department of Justice and House leadership to ensure Maxwell’s testimony is made public. No more secrecy. No more protecting the powerful. Epstein’s victims — and the public — deserve full transparency.

If Ghislaine Maxwell is finally going to speak, we all have the right to hear it.
